Degeneres Takes The Coward's Way Out
So what does a well known comedian do after she's caused a dog shelter owner AND a dog owner to receive death threats because she was too stupid to read a contract she signed clearly stating what the terms of the doggy adoption were to be? I mean, could there possibly be an encore for that? Turns out there is!
"It's been a long week and a tough week and we decided to take a long weekend and be back on Tuesday," said Laura Mandel, a spokeswoman for Telepictures Productions, which produces "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
According to Yahoo News, Ellen Degeneres has decided to grab a long weekend for herself thereby avoiding any further public fallout to her because of the idiotic mess she made of Iggy's doggy adoption.
Yeah, that's the really adult thing to do after causing other people to fear for their lives. Run away and hide.
I used to be an Ellen Degeneres fan. I watched her stand up act on television whenever I saw it was being aired long before she was a household word. No more. Her behavior in this Iggy dog fiasco has been unacceptable and downright childish.
When Ellen had her very public problems with Anne Heche, I thought it was terrible that her privacy had to be invaded by the media in what looked to be a very personal matter. And then at one of the awards shows Ellen hosted, she made a sarcastic remark about Anne Heche in her act. So much for privacy.
So will Iggy the dog eventually turn into some new material for whatever stand up act Ellen performs in the future? Her dialogs are full of references to people saying or doing really dumb things. Well this time, Ellen takes the prize for the biggest, noisiest, and messiest dumb thing we've seen in a while. And there's nothing one bit funny about it. Death threats are no laughing matter.
I've got a good solution for Ellen. She shouldn't bother limiting herself to just two days off. Stay off permanently. During a time when men like Don Imus and Isaiah Washington and Michael Richards are strongly censured for what they've said, Ellen Degeneres is just as bad and does not deserve to walk away free from any penalty at all. She used her television show to cause harm to someone else, and that should not be ignored by taking a few days away from her show.
All this carrying on over a dog. Unbefuckinglievable. Ellen's gotta go.

sigh...oh boy. I really don't pay much attention to that kind of news, but it is important because these idiots are considered influentia.
Nope, not a fan of talk shows or TMZ or E! or any of their subjects.
But I have my own quirks (NASCAR)
Sorry I haven't been by lately. I do enjoy your writing. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Rev :)
I don't usually get into this kind of thing either, but this story caught my attention because of the impact one stupid celebrity has had on others. Ellen Degeneres used her tv show and entire fan base (which I gather is considerable) to showcase the fact that she doesn't believe legalities such as signed contracts apply to her. As a result of her using the somewhat powerful medium she has at her disposal (which, unfortunately, the victims of her attack do not have), she has caused a business to stop functioning and an innocent family to receive death threats. And while those people have to deal with the result Ellen has caused, she simply bows out for a few days and goes home to relax. This is outrageous, but the only people really holding Ellen accountable for the mess she made are comedians like those on Best Week Ever and The Soup. Argh!
