Oprah? Backlash? Well, It's About Time!
[rant]Looks like the Queen of Daytime TV isn't doing so good in the media attention department these days. But then, she's not giving away cars or sheets or bath oil or whatever the "new big thing" is this month. No, instead, she's declaring that she will NOT be inviting Sarah Palin on her show. She's had Barack Obama. She's even had Hillary Clinton. But Palin? Nope.
Personally, I don't give a fat rat's ass whether Oprah invites Sarah Palin to her show. It is, after all, Oprah's show, and she can have whomever she likes on it. As Phil Donahue would say, "This is America," which means all those guaranteed freedoms, and Oprah is merely exercising one of hers. That's fine with me, because even if Oprah invited Palin on her show, I wouldn't watch. I'm just thrilled, however, to see that Oprah is finally showing off her true bigoted colors.
Just for the sake of argument, let's say this isn't a bigoted decision. Then why is Oprah so afraid of Palin? And why would she respond to the mere suggestion that Sarah appear on her show as though someone had just asked her to cough up a lung or, God forbid, cook her own dinner? Despite the media's need to paint Sarah Palin as some kind of deranged, redneck, trailer trash, moose eating, lying, unfit mother AND unqualified Governor, she does clean up nice, and so far she hasn't spit on anyone's rug. So what's the problem? And c'mon, if Oprah sensibilities were not one bit affected by having a woman on her show who lied through her teeth to save her husband's job while he was too busy getting blow jobs in the oval office to care what his wife or his country thought about such behavior, then what could possibly affect her so deeply about inviting Sarah Palin to sit down for a nice chat? I mean, Oprah hasn't minded interviewing a pedophile while pretending he was just your basic, average ordinary King Of Pop. What has Palin done to warrant such obvious distaste? Obviously Oprah doesn't want the US to get to know Sarah Palin one bit better than the media coverage has depicted her so far which could hardly be called flattering. So why is that?
According to Popcast, a Comcast.com site people are not looking too kindly on Oprah for shutting out Sarah Palin or any other political candidate until after the election. As I said when I began my rant, that's certainly Oprah's choice, and I respect it. But, see, she opened the door for this herself when she decided to jump in with both swollen ankles to the political arena. It's my opinion that her overboard response to Barack Obama was a very poor business decision. But I'm also, as I said, pleased as punch that she's decided to move in this direction because I think it's high time Oprah is exposed for the phony, food obsessed, touchy-feely, taken-in-by-any-moron-with-a-far-out-life-plan bigot she is. Oprah stopped being relevant years ago, and the sooner the rest of the world realizes that, the happier I, for one, will be.[/rant]

I've been fed up w/ Oprah for a few years, ever since she felt "prejudiced" by the ultra-chic department store because they refused to stay open for her when she came in at closing time. And then to compound matters, she had the store manager on to apologize for his staff wanting to go home at the end of their day. Oprah's ego has become as big as her backside & her common sense has flown out the window. She's "worshipped" by too many poor souls who need introspection more than they need a secret mantra. Here, here, Ma!! Great points!
